Nightfall on the Sand

Scene              :  a seaside in Anyer beach

Time               : in the evening

Yani sits on the sand in the seaside who is looking at the wealth of its nature in that place. Waves upon the sea as chasing one another.

Renia               : (near to Yani and sits beside her) may I share a little?

Yani                : about…?

Renia               : (calmly, stare at ceiling picture) about me, you, and us.

Yani feels silent upon hearing Re’s statement.

Renia                  : (stare in the Yani’s face) do you know, what is my reason to choose 512 senior high school after graduating from junior high school? Actually, it’s nothing special. Complete facilities, such as basket ball court, soccer field either indoor or outdoor are there. The laboratories are complete such as computer laboratory, physic laboratory, biology laboratory, chemistry laboratory, and language laboratory. But, there is a facility which haven’t owned yet by other school. (Stare at ceiling picture) the simple school mosque but it is able to heart-moving.  For the first time I see that mosque, I inspire to see the community in it. Likely they stay in a world of far from my place tread on. I don't know why, I wish really knowing through of their world, world missionize.

Yani still keep silent and stare the wealth of its nature in the evening.

Renia               : (Renia’s tears star to float) the organization which is handling that mosque is called Solidaritas Remaja Islam. That mosque is An-Nur which has the meaning is light. Do you know, Yan, why it named by An-Nur?  Sister Yuli said it can be illuminating the people of their environs, especially which is learning the science so that the science more useful, moreover science is as a light.

Yani starts to cry bitter tears.

Renia               : finally, I met you all in SR. I met you, Yan. I met the childish Andin, I met the sweet Lisha, the adult Alit, Elis who has halfblooded of China, the beautiful Zecki, the motherlike Irma, and the other. I also met the boys who are impressive, dashing but queer-looking. Our chief is Fahmi, Uki which has strong accent patois of Java, Yayang who can speak English and Arabic fluently.  With all of you as if I stay with my family. For me, all of you more than simply friends, all of you more than workmates, all of you are my family. My brothers and sisters! (Cry heart out) but, now…. Why you want to retire from this organization?

Yani cries bitter tears and she bites her lips. Her heart is grieved when she listened Re’s sharing of SR management in their school.

Yani                : you will not understand how sorest this heart is. (Standing and going to walk to far away from Renia)

Renia               : (screaming) why…. Why can I understand you? (Chasing at Yani)

Yani                : (screaming) because of you are a part of them.

And they are vis-à-vis among the splash of wave gone out to sea.

Yani                : (calmly) I am confused. I am confused with your all attitude during the time. During the time, my heart always asks around, and altogether begins from one question. Is Aryani Pertiwi still being assumed by a friend or workmate? (Staring at ceiling picture) Maybe you feel confused with my question but I feel it until this time. I feel isolated by all of you. All of the things are becoming trend in management; I do not have a line on that matter. Suddenly, all of you come to me and ask the fund for the activities without confirmation to me before. And finally I conscious, I conscious that you all do not require me. (Fall to the white sand.)

Renia embraces her try to make her calm.

Renia               : you are foolish if you think like that! We have never removed you. We love you, Yan. (Calmly) we love you.

Yani                : (disembarrass) you are lie! Perhaps, it’s only you say like that, Re.

Andin, Elis, Alit, Fahmi, Yayang and other SR management come from the north-ward.

Elis                  : if we have never loved you, what for do we here?

Andin              : (come a-near) you are wrong, if you said we have isolated you.

Yayang            : (come a-near) perhaps, it’s only your feeling which has a hunch that we don’t need you. Basically, we need another, don’t we?

They take a walk to come a-near and make a semicircular.

Alit                  : (point towards sun amazingly) Look!!! Look that sun. What a beautiful panorama in the nightfall is!

Zecky              : I always remember with our experience in the first time in…

Lisha               : (continue) Pangrango Mountain.

Fahmi              :ya,  new member enthronization which is always recalled.

Uphay             : clearly, when we went and climbed to that mountain, I really felt that you all are as my close family. (Remembering) hmmm, in that time, it was Yani’s Birthday, wasn’t it? (Stealing a glance at Yani)

Uki                  : when can we Tahajud praying together again? It has been long time we haven’t praying together again.

Renia               : if we pray tonight?

Arif                 : likely, if like this event such as placing the egoist forward.

Yani feels be forced into Arif’s statement.

Yani                : (soliloquy) oh, my God. I am very foolish! Why do I ask their more attention? How naive I am, to assume them to isolate me?

Elis                  : Yani, do you still want to join us? (extending Yani’s hand)

It is witnessed by Anyer beach that are success in uniting their fraternity.
